Most "edit a PDF" jobs are actually addition jobs: a signature line, a date, a note in a margin, a tick box, or a label over a blank space. Toolzio's Edit PDF tool adds text, images, and rectangles on top of PDF pages and exports the result, free and without an account, entirely in your browser. Your file is never uploaded to a server, so a form or a contract can be completed without handing it to anyone.
Honesty first, because this is where PDF tools usually oversell: this tool adds a new layer on top of your pages. It does not rewrite the existing text underneath, and it cannot delete or alter words that are already printed in the document. If you need to change a sentence inside the original text, that is a different job, done in the software that created the document. What this tool does well is everything people most often mean by editing a PDF: filling in a form without printing it, adding a signature image, stamping "PAID" or "APPROVED" on a page, or covering a blank area with a clean rectangle before adding your own text.
Place each addition where it belongs, check it against the page behind it, and export. Because additions sit on top of the page, a rectangle can cover something underneath — use that deliberately (for example, to neatly block out a blank field) and never to hide content you should not hide. Editing cannot unlock an encrypted PDF, so unlock a protected file first. Open the exported file before sending it: additions that looked right in the workspace can shift on a dense page, and one check now beats a corrected resend later.
A few habits make added content look like it belongs. Match the size of added text to the text already on the page rather than letting it dominate, keep additions aligned with the fields or margins they relate to, and use rectangles sparingly — a rectangle is ideal for tidying a blank field, but a large block over existing content will look like something is being hidden, even when it is not. For signatures, place the image once, check its size against the signature line, and only then export; an oversized signature is the most common giveaway that a form was completed digitally. One final open-and-check of the exported file catches all of these before anyone else sees them.
Very large files are limited by your device memory. Encrypted PDFs must be unlocked first. This is a focused single-purpose tool, not a full desktop PDF suite.
